A moderate earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.3 was felt in Jamaica on Friday morning, according to the Earthquake Unit at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona.

Epicenter and Depth

The epicenter of the earthquake was located approximately 10 kilometers south of Black River, St. Elizabeth, at a depth of about 10 kilometers.

Impact

The earthquake was felt across the island, with reports of shaking in Kingston, Montego Bay, and other areas.

According to the Earthquake Unit, there have been no reports of damage or injuries at this time.
