Boy Scouts of America Rebrands to Scouting America

Historic Name Change Reflects Organization's Transformation

New Name Aligns with Evolving Mission and Focus on Inclusion

IRVING, Texas (May 7, 2024) – The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) announced a monumental change in its long-standing history: it will officially rename itself Scouting America in 2025.

This decision, a first in the organization's 114-year history, stems from a desire to better reflect its current mission and embrace an inclusive approach. The new name acknowledges the BSA's commitment to empowering youth of all backgrounds and providing them with opportunities for personal growth, leadership, and character development.

The organization's President and CEO, Jeff Zweibel, said, "Scouting America represents the culmination of our ongoing journey to evolve and better serve the youth of today. This new name encapsulates our values of inclusivity, diversity, and the unwavering pursuit of excellence."

The Boy Scouts of America, now known as Scouting America, will continue its legacy of providing transformative experiences for young people across the country. The organization remains dedicated to fostering leadership, citizenship, and character through its programs and activities.
