Background
The Orlando Magic is a professional basketball team based in Orlando, Florida. The team is a member of the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Magic were founded in 1989 as an expansion team and began play in the 1989–90 season. The team's home arena is the Amway Center, which opened in 2010.

The Magic are owned by RDV Sports Inc., a company founded by Richard DeVos. DeVos is an American billionaire businessman and co-founder of Amway, a multi-level marketing company. DeVos has been the chairman of the Orlando Magic since 2011.
Jeff Weltman
Jeff Weltman was named president of basketball operations of the Magic in 2017. Weltman has more than 32 years of experience in basketball operations in the NBA. He previously served as the general manager of the Toronto Raptors and the assistant general manager of the Denver Nuggets.
Success of the Magic
Under DeVos' ownership, the Magic have become one of the most successful teams in the NBA. The team has won two NBA championships, in 1995 and 2009. The Magic have also made it to the NBA Finals four other times, in 1996, 2000, 2001, and 2010.
